About the BE STAR Recognitions.
The BE STAR Recognitions have been designed for recognizing Organizations who have reached significant levels of achievement on their journey of Excellence. These are applicable to Large Organizations and their operating Units ( Revenue > 100 crores).
These are given away in the areas of Operations, Customer management and People management.
The purpose of these recognitions are to help Organizations realize the power of an external assessment thereby bringing out blind spots which help them to progress further leading to being a benchmark in the above areas.
All the 3 functional recognitions are based on a formal framework which stands on the base of Continuous Improvemen and Health Safety & Environment with the Leadership and Strategy at the top and supported by the pillars of Technology ,stakeholder focus and Results associated with each of the functions.
Central to the framework is the Core areas of HR/ Customer/ Operations wherein the questions encompass all the Processes concerning the function. These would be assessed based on the Operating Context.
A 2 member team walks through the processes of the respective framework through an interaction, Daily work practices, management review presentations and a floor/ process walk to identify the strengths and Opportunities for Improvement. Day 2 of the Assessment culminates with a presentation on the way forward.
Based on the threshold scores obtained, the levels of recognition are decided as Leader, Emerging Leader and promising practitioner. The recognitions are given away in the Annual Business Excellence Conclave along with a learning sessions by practitioners.
These assessments are a stepping stone for the Organisations to tryout the full scale Organisational Diagnosis under the BE Maturity Assessment program leading the Organisations to challenge the CII EXIM BANK Award for Business Excellence moving forward.

- Assessment is based on CII-IQ Functional Excellence Framework
- Non Document Based Assessment
- On site Validation by a two member team
- Scoring on a 0-500 point scale covering relevant practicesand results
* Man days can vary based on the size and complexity of the applicant.
- All Organisations registered and operating in India
- Applicant must have been in Business for at least three years. (Open to all sectors)
- Minimum turnover of Rs 100 Crores in the recently concluded Financial Year
Note : If the applicant is an Operating unit/SBU of a large organisation,then the minimum turnover of the unit applying must be Rs 50 Crore
